Brent Andrew Nothern

 Brent Andrew Nothern, 56, died unexpectedly December 14, 2020. He was born June 5, 1964 in Topeka, the son of Marianna and Austin Nothern. He attended Topeka Public Schools, the University of Oregon, and was a graduate of Washburn University. He later earned a Masters Degree in Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, Carpinteria, California. He worked for a number of years in Portland, Oregon before returning to Topeka. He worked at the Kansas Historical society and as a field opinion interviewer for NORC. Inc, at the University of Chicago. Brent's primary interest, however, was as a photographer. He had his own professional photography business called Nothern Exposure, and for many years had been a contract photographer for Gallery Portraiture, Inc Kansas City, Missouri.


Brent's hobbies were fishing, hiking, karate, crossword puzzles, summer vacations in Colorado, and since a child, sailing at Lake Shawnee.

He is survived by his parents, Marianna and Austin Nothern, Topeka, his sister Mary Lemmon, nephew Glen Lemmon and niece, Elizabeth Lemmon, all of Lawrence, Kansas.

Due to Covid-19 there will be only a private family service.
