Charlie “CHAZ” Wilson RIP 4/4/2022 - 9:55 am this morning Dr. Joe sent CHAZ to the chapter eternal.
Bill Riphahn says Charlie was the most famous dog in Topeka. He preferred a lower profile. He had ten encounters with the system yet had a Teflon lifestyle. Mission Township ruled the chickens were an “attractive nuance” after eating the science project of a neighbors. Making this situation even harder Charlie played with the family all the time and the youngest child’s name is Charlie a name’s sake.
Charlie had an eye for the ladies. Socializing with him was better than taking a baby to the grocery store. He loved visiting Aldersgate Village to see John Brier. He could out smart the electric doors and wait at the end of the hall until the 3rd door opened and run into see his buddy. After John died, he still saw the lady that live in the same room. Aldersgate called me and said the new occupant was afraid of dogs, not Charlie and ask me to have Charlie stop visiting. I explained the situation and he stop visiting that room. Then Mr. C took him one day to Aldersgate to visit a friend of his and Charlie visited him on his own once before that guy died.
Jim and Judy were best friends of Charlie and loved them. Judy reminded me how human he was. Dick and Jackie entertained him on a regular basis, and he gave comfort to their home. Most recently Chef’ reminded me how he came home with a command on the phone. You cannot make up stories like this.
Charlie loved fetch and water retrieving. Car rides and trips to the bark park were a staple of his activities. Walks on shunga were a high point. He loved the trip to the garden of the gods and was with me over 12 years his life. The one exception is when my evil stepsister kidnapped him, and the Shawnee County Sheriff had to retrieve Charlie Wilson.
He had a mind of his own and made me sell 2900 SW Macvicker. Using the shunga as a highway he would run back to 5307 SW 28th or Switzerland on the shunga, jump the fence and be waiting. Facebook alerts made on walkabout, and we always found each other. Thanks to everyone who loved him.
Today we celebrate his life and the joy he brought to the universe. This is the voice of experience knowingly I can say he is in a better place. He is out of pain. Free to run. Our best friend. No one could keep a secret like him.
He was Master.
